Just a few weeks into their journey out of Egypt, God tells the Israelites He is ready to speak with them, but they must realize that He wants them to be prepared first. Then the writer of Hebrews refers to this story, comparing the giving of the Old Testament Law to the free gift of Salvation through Jesus Christ.
